Hangovers

Hmm, I think this advice will be useful to most people at some stage in their lives - firstly, in order to understand how to cure hangovers you need to know that they are essentially caused by dehydration. This means that the best defence/cure is lots of water - I recommend a pint of water per unit of alcohol before going to sleep - it's easiest to achieve this by drinking soft drinks as you drink the alcohol and then topping up with extra water afterward. If you get fed up drinking water then go for fruit juice or some other soft drink (though I'd recommend avoiding anything fizzy). Keep a (plastic!) glass/bottle of water beside your bed; you will wake up feelng thirsty, no matter how much water you drink. If, inspite of all the water you do wake up with a sore head take some paracetomal (avoid ibuprofen since it's harder on the stomach) and persuade yourself to carry on drinking water/fruit juice. When you feel able, you must try to eat something, your hangover won't go away till you do.
