Shah biscuits

Another of my grandmother's recipes.

Cream margarine and sugar, add the golden syrup, mixed (and sifted!) dry ingredients and the beaten egg. Turn onto a floured board - make into a long roll and cut into thirty-two pieces. Roll each of them into a ball and place them on greased baking trays - allow room for them to spread during cooking. Bake at 190c/375F until flat and golden brown. Place on a cooling rack.
